work of art Ikem!...i saw yours the day after i painted mine white and put my Sentry 2 in. That's when i felt like a bit of a tool haha...but i joined the boards anyway, and realized that there arent many of these in white after all. Have you changed anything in yours since?

Ugh, the waiting is starting to get to me... I won't be home for a month but I've already got my new PC-A05NB waiting for me. Now I've got a shopping cart with over $300 in parts for my mod project... So much for a cheap case. Can't wait to get started on this project, I have been looking through all of your awesome mods and I think I have something unique to add with mine. I'm thinking a double-pane window with actual bullet holes in front of a red LED fan with a crosshair grill... All black paint/powdercoat chassis with white lights and all black/gunmetal hardware inside.

wow, that sounds bada$$...now, think of how glad you'll be that you will have thought of these things for a month. you have time to change your mind, add things, take things away, all before you pick up a dremel. grab a sketch pad and just mock up some layouts and some of these ideas! by the time you get home, you'll probably be quite clear of your direction.

keep us posted!

Exactly! I've been working on ideas for awhile and decided on this plan a few weeks ago. I'm planning on using one of these GPU cooler intake fan mounts, cutting out the back and covering it with plexiglas and this grill. Then like I said, shoot some holes in one sheet of plexiglass and cover it with a second to keep the air out, then light the window from the edge so the cracks and holes really pop.

Just to update, my plans of making a blank custom front panel has met a technical issue, which is when you bend the brush aluminium to 90degrees very small hair line splits in the outer black surface revile the silver metal underneath along the bend. While the exposure to silver is absolutely tiny, it is enough to make me reconsider this idea. Obviously this could be overcome by painting the entire case, but I didn’t really want to do that. If only I had ordered the silver version to start with =)

you could try touching it up with a black shrapie. thats what i did when i cut my top panel. Are they cracks in the anodizing or in the aluminum. do you know what grade of aluminum you got? if it is 6061 then you shoudn't bend it because it will crack and break.

The cracks are in the anodizing and are small, smaller than small, tiny and only visible when the light hits it at the correct angle, but there are cracks none the less and I'm a perfectionist unfortunately. I think the aluminum is high grade as i am using the side panel from my 2nd Lian Li PC-A05N to make the custom front panel. I have tried to get a good photo but you cant even see much, best i can get with my mobile phone:

In UK dude, don't you know we don't have gun stores =)

But you got me thinking about something similar.

In fact it maybe i can live with it, for a nice plain front panel. Thinking of maybe buying a fan speed controller and dismantling it and building straight into the front, just 4 knobs vertically or something.

Also thinking about not having a mobo tray and having just 3 vertical rails instead, after all only 9 screws you really need, that are in 3 rows. Comments?
