Well i have a rough piece cut out for mounting the psu vertical on the face. im going to call around to a couple cnc places where i live and see if i can have two pieces ran off that are exact. i will try to get some pictures tomorrow so you guys can see how i did it. i have the inside completely laid out in my head now too. im going ot be putting a false floor in it and sectioning off the front where the psu is so when you look in the window i put in all you see is a very clean set up. cable management is my next biggest step. i have paracord showing up tomorrow from FTWPC!! ll get some pictures taken and get them up asap!

Nice I'm Planning on somewhat doing the same. Id look forward to seeing your pics! For your "False Floor" are you planning on having that vertical? or are you making it horizontal? I'm making a dividing wall in mine, separating the mobo from the HDDs & PSU.

Whole Wheat, your plan looks solid!

as an alternative, Ninja, here's what i did...fairly traditional layout of DVD/BD drive and fan controller, 3.5" bay holding my SSD, same PSU as Whole Wheat (TX650...non-modular, mind you). but everything is covered and concealed with bent acrylic, including the "false floor" which is hiding 2xHDD side by side. all acrylic from Home Depot, easy to bend and super cheap, and it's quite clean looking....well whatever, here's a pic, take a look. hopefully you can atleast get some ideas...

Hey guys, this thread has got me seriously considering the A05NB as my next case - I just have a few questions regarding cooling.

I'm building a system with an i5 2500k and plan to overclock it. I haven't picked my GPU but it'll be in the $200 range. With a decent CPU cooler and stock cooling on the case, what kind of temps could I expect? Also, what's the noise level like?

With adding fans, when you guys mod a top fan to the case, is it typically an exhaust or an intake for positive air pressure? Are there any good dust filter solutions you could recommend if one were to make it an intake? Do you use a dust filter on the rear intake? Finally, has anyone modded a cutout for the case below the PSU for another fresh air intake? Is it even possible to mount the PSU fan down?

Thanks guys!thumb.gif

I'm not sure about the gpu temps cause I only have a 5770 and modded my top right away. But I believe cards can run anywhere from 60-80C depending on cooler, clocking, etc. My fans are set to be intake on the top and rear, Exhaust on bottom and front.. I am being forced to come up with some sort of dust filter for my fans. As far as positive vs negative pressure my setup is positive but I have seen any where near the amount of dust on my heat sink and corners of the case as I have on the blades of my fans. You can see the caked on dirt after only 5-6 months (my room is supper bad with dusk). PSU intake holes are very common and the PSU can be mouth fan up or down with no problems.

If you decide to go with and A05 make sure to get the A05N not the "FN". The "FN" seems to be a disappointment to some of the owners in our club and the switched to the "N." Don't be afraid to ask more questions. Someone has probably thought about doing or has done it.

This is my plan for the case.

Good plan but measure and then measure again for the bottom rad placement.. you get almost no clearance between your PSU and the power plug on the back. And make sure you don't center it or else you'll have no clearance for your ram either (you have to move it forward as seen in a couple build logs posted here). You get a lot clearance by placing the rad up top on the roof, but I guess you won't have any room with 2x 2-slot cards.
