Damn that looks clean! How did you get rid of all the cables?! I think i have a bit too much going on in my case to be able to make the cabling look good. Good Job thumb.gif

Took a few hours of work to do. Still waiting on black sata cables to arrive, but they're gonna be hidden anway so it won't really matter biggrin.gif. I managed to squeeze the 8pin eps cable and power cable extension under the motherboard. The rest are behind the PSU somewhere lol. Either way I don't think your rig could ever be as bad as mine was >_<:

EDIT:
I noticed you've reversed the air flow direction of your case as well. Have you used anything to stop the front intake 'breathing' in the hot air the PSU exhausts? The SSD and HDD I've got in the bottom drive bay get quite hot (~40) if I don't take the front panel off during gaming :/. I think I'll try moving them up to the floppy drive bay instead.

Not to be off topic but:

People that say Noctua fans are ugly must not have seen these...sicksmiley.png Could see them working in a military themed case.

But all joking aside very nice cables

I have a foam divider between the fan and Power supply like so. \/

Pardon the dust lol. Foam isn't the easiest to get that dust color out of.

Just picked up a pc-ao5nb top with 140mm fan hole over at Performance PC …

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=130_387&products_id=27186

I remember it was forever that they didn’t have this in stock. Had been meaning to cut out my own blowhole but never got around to it. I’m at 3.7 on the i7 920 and stock clocks on the GTX 570 and no major heat issues (idle at around 40C and 55C, respectively) but more air is always good.

Debating on whether to go intake our outtake on this one. I know most turn this into an exhaust but I’ve got a single intake for the Corsair H50 (dragged by the radiator) and a single outtake in front – along with the outtake from the PSU but that’s strictly going through just the PSU. If I go outtake like most others, I suspect I’m going to have major negative pressure unless I drill more holes likely best towards the front of the case?

Now have my A05 !! Will be some time building.thumb.gif

IMHO bring cool air into case and remove all hot air from case. In your case (pun intended) move H50 to top and filter fans on back in, H50 out, and front 120mm in. Filters on both intakes. Just look at flow: Back in to to H50 out. Front in to GPU out. Only heat build up on front in is HDDs. Motherboard and Ram heat is radiated into case regardless of flow. CFM ofback and front in with fans on low speed should still be higher then GPU and H50 CFM out meaning a slight positive case pressure leaking out and no dust getting in.

My present system is: CPU = I7 920 @ 3.8GHz w/ Noctua NH-U12P HSF w/ exhaust ducted directly out of case* (38c idle and 70c full load), GPU = Powercolor HD4890 PCS w/ Scythe Setsugen cooler ducted directly out of case* (45c & 75c) with 2x140mm Corsair fans intake. Ambient room temp is 21c. Case ambient is 21c idle and 22-23c full load**.

* This means no hot air is released inside of case from HSF and GPU

** HDD and motherboard heat

Thanks, Doyll.

I had thought about reversing the airflow from a back to front to side to top as you described.

Much debate out there though as to whether the front intake is simply recycling the hot outtake from the PSU. I’ve also read about placing some styrofoam to block the outtake of the PSU from recirculating through the intake in this type of setup. There were some reasons against this styrofoam hack but I forget what they were.

Also, I believe I had that Lian Li specifically designed this case with a back to front airflow design – of course this does not consider a top hole.

It’s an excellent setup in my own opinion nonetheless – just the PSU heat is worrying me.
