Understand your concern. I use a cheap little in/out thermometer to monitor room and case temp. Could use it and monitor PSU air temp. Try front intake and see what air temp inside of case in fan air flow is compared to room temp. Can move sensor around in case to wherever you want. wink.gif

I forgot to mention my case is FN, so left side mount w/ CPU on top.... ideal for my game plan, but not sure about yours. Problem is pulling air into case with top means it's hard to make sure hot air coming out isn't picked up by top intake whereas if top is unobstructed hot air is up and away.
I'm considering reversing my PSU airflow... as mine is out of warranty now.

I'm also assuming your H50 will fit in top and hoses are long enough.

A lot of the "designed for" statements are just advertising hype. Even the "heat rises so hot out above / cold in below" doesn't mean much. Fans create forced air... and forced air doesn't believe the "heat rises" theory. wink.gif

May people are not careful enough of what's around you case ... sides, back and top.. make sure the hot air coming out is not being picked up by cool air intake fans. Like warm/hot air from PSU being sucked back in... depending on how warm it is. wink.gif

Guys, I was kind of wondering...

Would it be a good idea if I run both front and rear fans in intake mode, and exhaust the hot air via the radiator in the top?

It's a triple radiator, but the loss of airflow due to restriction should make more than enough towards having a net positive pressure inside the case, amirite?

Thanks!

Hi guys! I officially want to join "Lian Li PC A05 Club"! Here are the photos of my new case:

http://imageshack.us/g/841/img20120128160401.jpg/

I've bought it from a guy, that never used it - it was all packed! He gave me a front bezel or DVD/CD like a bonus. All of this cost me about 70$. I'm pretty happy with my deal smile.gif

So here is my config:

Motherboard: ASUS P5Q
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 1.8 Ghz
RAM: 2x1 GB DDR 800 SuperTalent
GPU: GALAXY GeForce 9800GT 512MB DDR3 192 bit
HDD: Western Digital RE2 750GB SATA2
HDD 2: Seagate 250 GB PATA (ATA-100)
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DX
DVD-RW: LG 22x (dunno the exact model and who cares - it is a basic DVD-RW)
PSU: Fortron 350W
Fan Controller: Scythe KAZE Master 4CH Black

and I have 1 additional LAN 10/100/1000 card installed on my motherboard as well.

I don't have the best config here, may be it is the oldest and slowest, but that's all I can afford right now and that's all that I need for my work. I wanted to ask you something guys:

1. Both of the stock fans in the case are 0.27 amps. Scythe Fan Controller supports 1 AMP per channel. Can I use one single channel to control both of the stock fans?

2. Today I've ordered a new GPU cooler. It is the Zalman VF1000. I've read many reviews over the net and I think it is the best for my GPU when talking about cheap and efficient cooling, because on an old 9800GT I really don't need anything more... special or expensive. What do you think? Did I made a bad choice? Because my stock cooler on 100% power gives me 89 degrees Celsius when playing games and artifacts arrive smile.gif and everything shuts down... frown.gif That' why I need a new one.

3. Another quesion - I think that a single 140 mm exhaust fan (I want to buy Noisblocker fan, the black one will fit perfectly with the case style) on the top of the case will be enough for my config, right? But should I drill it myself or should I give the top panel to a laser cutter? Is the laser cutter better for this kind of job? What do you think? And can someone give me some measurements (in centimeters and millimeters), because it is my first EVER mod and I don't want to ruin my case :S.

So that's all guys! That's the coolest case I've owned and I really want to do it even better, but I need you help and assistance smile.gif

Well that's a nice change in mood from a few days ago when I responded.biggrin.gif

You have a nice rig and I'm sure with the help of those in this forum who have this case will assist you to improve on it.

There are people who look for the version case you have and can't find it and they're those who get a case and without realizing get lucky it's the preferred version of it like you and at a good price.

Enjoy your case and build in great health. thumb.gif wink.gif

If you can get a hold of a water jet they work better. Won't burn your paint or melt the thin AL. 140mm fans fit perfectly. In fact, 3 of then fit perfectly rolleyes.gif Give me a few and I can try to pull up my measurements again.

Ok guys! Roll out the red carpet where's my invite to the club?!?

Started my build this week and hope to have it finished in two weeks at the latest. Going for an all brushed aluminum theme and am even building a new "desk" for it...pics to come.

So far....
Case: Lian Li PC-A05FNA R Silver
CPU: AMD Phemon II 1100-T Black Edition
Mobo: Crosshair V
RAM: Corsair Vengence 16 GB
Keyboard: Enermax Aurora aluminum (<--- was a hell of a hard time tracking this down as it was DC'd 3 years ago)
CD Rom Bezel: Lian Li C-02b Silver

And considering....
? Mouse: Steelseries WoW Mouse?
? GPU: MSI Twin Frozr III?
? SSD: ?
? CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60?
? PSU: ?
? CD/DVD Rom: ?

Comment/critiques? I have about a grand left in budget for remaining items...Also I noticed most of your guy's cases are black...anyone know of any links to some slick aluminum builds?

Wow I like where that is going, I always wanted to buy a silver case, but my modding always took over...

GPU needs to be a Tiwn Frozer II or III, it would comment the theme nicely.
