That's a nice sleeper rig you have there. How well do those cards cool?

I've got some nice feedback from Lian-Li...

My question:
Quote:
Dear Lian-Li,

I have a little question, does the side panel of the new A05FNB fits on the old A05NB or vice versa?

Thanks for your time.

Kind regards,

their answer was:

Dear xxx,

Yes. Thank you.

Here's my recently put together rig, finally got my hands on a used PC-A05N, always wanted one.
The 7970 DCII makes the whole case a heatsink -___-;;

LOL I know right.
My A05N was like a huge radiator when I was gaming with my 2500K@4.8 cooled by Antec 620 intaking air to the case and 560Ti@~950Mhz cooled by AXP and I didn't have a fan at the top either.

Nowadays my second rig, the HTPC, looks like I'm not gonna bother making a exhaust at the top. The HTPC uptime is something like 7 days right now and the hottest the GPU has been is 51*C. And the bitumen sure is collecting the small amount of heat the 5670 produces and the top is so nice and warm to rest my feet on biggrin.gif

I present you the first pictures of my A05 smile.gif

Stripped smile.gif

assembled test rig
I've allready removed the HDD cage.
Issues i've ran into (not yet solved):
- the 3.5 Diskette bay screwholes are to low. A 3.5 HDD doesn't fit ....
- after removing the hdd cage these ugly parts remain (marked with red, see below) I'll think I will dremel them off

I'd advise not to dremel those things off. Might need the hdd cage in future which u can screw back on. And the holes are too low for me too. I managed to get ssd in there though.
Anyone know how to make the cables look nice after removing the HDD cage? I can't frown.gif If i were to remove it a huge cluster fudge would apprear and rape my airflow:(

try putting unused cables in the 3.5 tray or possibly a side by side mount on the back of the motherboard tray? i dont know the depth back there but i have seen people hide them back there.

Space behind the motherboard tray is VERY limited so that's not an option since only the EPS 12V 8pin can fit behind there along with some thin cables (read sleeved fan cables and so on).
Only place to hide the cables where there is in space are behind the PSU, behind the HDD cage where applicable, behind the 3.5/5.25 slots.

The 8pin cable is a tad out of place in that picture of mine, it should be lower where that small cutout is, otherwise the side panel wouldn't close.
