Quick question for you guys. I've been looking for a case and been considering this one. Has anyone here tried rotating the the HDDs 90 degrees? Was curious if there was adequate room. Thanks in advance guys smile.gif

Thats a very good question. I went out and took some quick measurements w/ a tape measure and had a look.

Looks like 5" in both directions. This wont save on space, but it will help w/ cable management. After checking w/ the micrometer its 4.870" wide and 4.965" tall. Thats not much, but we are talking about metal here. The .095" might make a difference. But its not gonna stop me from trying.
Be back in a bit.

I think he was talking about having the drives slide in from the side.

Ah..... that would be cool too. it could prob be done. i think you would block more airflow if it was on its side.

Well its done and it looks great. Rep to chizel for the idea.
this is how much that .095" made. but the aluminum bends easily.

Fits real nice. Cable management will be easier to.

Wow. that is cool.. and it works too. I was wondering if you could mount the drives Vertically. I know you would have to remove the bay to take out or install a Hard Drive but I just wonder if that would be an option as well and if so would it be a beneficial MOD?

this should help you guys out in determining what the best position for fans are.

Pretty cool stuff in determing the airflow path inside the case. Makes sense that not much air makes it above the GPU. This is why a blowhole is so recommended. But if you have a blower type fan on the end of the card it would probably get enough air looking at the pic.

That's hella interesting, and it looks about right at first glance. It seems there are quite a few elements missing from the model though, and the nature of your PSUs fan would make quite a difference in the lower left, I reckon.

Well, aside from the USB 3.0, there doesn't seem like a single redeemable upgrade.

Lian Li has a special knack for taking a favored design and wrecking it.
