X2 4400+, 4800+ vs. FX-57, 60 - Page 2

I agree with some points that its asking for alot of $$$ for a slight increase in speeds, but it all depends on how much you willing to spend. a FX60 could be someones weeks salary or could be someones months salary.

If you got the money go for the FX60 i got mine running at 2.9ghz on air, teamed up with the Ati X1900XTX its a beast.

Alright thanks for all the info guys

Well with my situation I just bought a 4400+ X2, so I'm just going to be OCing this till hopefully next summer, because I'm not gonna have more money till then lol. But I think my rig will hold up till then.

But im the type of person that just wants the fastest i can afford. And its even better knowing that conroe will be out and it will perform better than my FX-60 at less than half the price.
Your rig makes me sad. All those amazing parts (7900GTX, FX60, DFI LanParty Venus, etc) and ONBOARD SOUND.

If you've got money to burn, get the FX series. The X2 4400+ is probably the best bang for the buck out there, I'd suggest getting that.

actually, some onboard sound stuff is pretty decent now... just for listening and gaming, i'd say that's fine (assuming it's pretty new and sounds good- there's also a bunch of new crap that sounds awful).

however, for making music or sound editing, sound cards are the best

FX-57 is a great cpu if you can pay the price, right now 3.26ghz and working on 3.3ghz with extream air cooling, can not believe the differance in performance.

Im sorry.................

You see im living in an apt atm and i dont really want to bug the neighbors while im playing music. Although soon ill be adding a xfi platinum and some Audio Technica ATH-A900's.

But then again im strongly considering going for a pair of creative bluetooth headphones. So ui dont think a new soundcard would do me any good.

You can only ell if you have 89 or 110 by the vendors lot numbers...there is no physical way on the chip to tell honesly...i forgot what number is which but i fyou do a little research you can ind out then call the place you got you processor from. Like i said..i was lucky enough to get a 89 wat...

Also i think the fans are diffrent...the one with lots of blades is the 110 watt i beleive.

That's actually an even bigger reason to purchase an X-Fi. The X-Fi will improve the sound of headphones more than it will any set of speakers, IMO.
