I would choose the P4P800-X and i865 chipset as it is the one you can get a decent overclock from. It will perform better than the other two boards.

The p4p800s-x is 50$, and the p4p800-x is 70$, is the 20$ different really worth the performance gain?

Hey, is this mobo okay? I passed by one of my local provider and catch this

Albatron PX865PEC Pro
http://www.albatron.com.tw/english/i...asp?pro_id=193
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813170153

They're selling it at 52 bucks, unbelieveable. Checking if they still have it in stock.

what we are trying to to u is that the intel chipset on the p4p800,are matched to work great with eachother. and the overclocking of that board is great too.

The ASUS will have better BIOS options, I highly reccomend an ASUS P4P800 SE or Delux.

That is the reason (as you state) your old motherboard sucks. Because you are too worried about a few dollars and look to cheap out far too much on such an important part of the overclock.....the motherboard.

Buy whatever you like and try to overclock it as best you can. Be happy with whatever overclock you can get for what you decide on. The Albatron has No Vcore or VDDR adjustments though.

Nice choices, all ASUS (like this brand ). First of all I don't trust the sis based mobo. To me it seems like a cheapo' upgrade mobo that I bet it has close to no OCing abilities, maybe it can change the FSB. The first one based on the INTEL 848P is terrible from a performance pow, even @ stock, not to mention OCing. This chpset supports only single channel DDR400, wich is a major drawback on Intel platforms. These prescott Pentium4s were build with a 6.4Gb/s memory bandwidth in mind wich is deliverable only by a dual channel DDR400, so the performance hit given by the single channel memory would be huge.
As the some of the others said, go for the ASUS P4P800-X. It's a good mobo, doesn't have that many features as a Deluxe series mobo, but it supports dual channel mem, has some OCing abilities and the most important is that ASUS managed to activate a feature for the I865 chipset that few could, the PAT(performance acceleration table) wich was only available for the expensive I875. This guarantees you that a ASUS mobo based upon the i865 works better than almost any other mobo based on this chipset (aka the albatron).

Hope this helps.
