5-Bits - Page 107

Congratulations crystalhand on your 3 million points.

You guys have been doing a great job of not only cutting into The Royal Navy's lead but also adding to our lead over Dark Predators.

What I'm afraid of is that Extreme Newbie just might have put out a decoy and is just "Crossing the T".
He has a bigger gun than I have but I'll upload a huge WU in the next couple of days and I expect he will do the same.
Keep them points coming, 5-Bits at a time. thumb.gif

Well, technically it's 6-Bits since we have 6 members. But your point is well taken. thumb.gif

Bad news, maybe, almost!!! redface.gifmad.gif

Just after 4 PM this afternoon I heard a loud bang and then my lights went out.
I soon found someone who saw a tree limb break and fall on a transformer.
Just before dark at about 6 PM a orange truck showed up.

I guess on a Sunday this utility only has one truck and one person working.
He disappeared behind some trees so I went back to my dark apartment.
About an hour later I went back out to find him out on the street up in his bucket.
Just after 7 PM I heard him yell at the spectators that the lights were on.

I got my TC i7-970 running and I believe that I'm still inside the deadline.
For awhile I was worried that the 1 man / 1 truck wasn't going to get my lights on before morning.

The Dark Predators not only leaped over 5-Bits (now 6 biggrin.gif) but also The Royal Navy.

You sure got lucky with that. We had bad snow in late October that took down power for 3 or so days. Thankfully our hot water was gas powered so we still could take showers and warm up with some boiling water on the stove.

Did not realize that I had hit 3mil :O. Thanks glad someone noticed

Edit msgclb I sure hope you have a huge WU dropping soon. Been a few days since we have seen your nice work. Hopefully that power outage did not have any effect on your current WU. I did not like trying to get bigadv units because of the tendency to loose a WU when using VMware coupled with an unexpected BSOD or power outage (I have a tendency to kick cables and switch off my surge protector)

My luck held out and a few minutes ago I uploaded my 6903 huge WU just in time for the latest stats. I made an image of our 5th place.

My dozen or so clocks in this apartment tells me that the 16th of Jan has past but I guess it's my little boy charm at work because I'm now working on a 6901 big WU that will upload in a couple of days.

6-Bits (formally known as 5-Bits biggrin.gif) keep them points coming.thumb.gif

Ok so have the new big adv changes gone into effect? we have still not heard anything from stanford. I was toying with vmware but I am unable to ever get any big adv WUs even with the core hack.

There's a rumor that nothing will change until the 6901, 6903 and 6904 WUs run out.

I uploaded a 6901 this morning and got a 6903.

I haven't a clue why you're not able to get the big WUs and others are.

What is your memory allocation? Needs to be at least 3072MB.
its well over that at about 7000 MBs. I have also verified that linux is showing 8+ cores through the command prompt, in the system properties, and within the FAH client it shows that 8+ cores are available (Mapping NT from 8 to 8). This is the main reason why I have never done bigadv because every single WU i recieve is normal SMP. Running linux is no faster then in windows and it brings down my GPU PPD
