If you're going to use a vmplayer it has to be 3.0. I don't have a link for it but hopefully someone else does. I've never used linuxforge. I'll see if I can find a link for 3.0.
Now my problems!!!!
I've been trying to get Linux running on my 2600k and had all kinds of problems.
First, I tried Ubuntu 10.10. I got it installed but when I tried to boot after updating it crashed.
I then tried to install Ubuntu 12.04 and that failed.
What I then realized was that my OC must be causing this problem.
I was able to get Ubuntu 12.04 installed and updated on my stock 2600k.
When I tried to run Ubuntu at 4.8 GHz it didn't boot.
I lowered my OC to 4.5 GHz and it booted.
This is the first time my Windows OC wasn't stable in Linux so now I need to find that solution.
