Good info there...just to reiterate--the EZ plug is only for 20 pin PSU connections. The other (12V) plug is also needed. I am not sure if I agree with the statement that you cannot overpower devices...some SATA Hdds come with both SATA and molex--and specifically warn against connecting both...a bit off topic. You should be fine with just the 24 from the PSU.

CyberDruid is right, I would caution against overpowering anything. Afterall, it is quite possible to overpower many things. SATA drives, like he mentioned, as well as CPUs


In this case, I think what he is asking is about the EATX 12v 4 pin, not the 4pin molex EZ plug. He said up near the heatsink.

You should have a 24pin connector for your main power on the right side of your board, and on the left side, between the CPU and the backplate, should be a smaller 4 pin that is shaped like a sqaure, 2 on top, 2 on bottom. That is the EATX 12v and should be connected as well.
