This dude claims 170g.

Haven't seen the pics though.

Could be trolling.

I just added Apple Extended II Mitsumis to the Switch Peak Force Database Peak Force database courtesy of Pardox Me. 75 to 80g. From a Vintage Computing Day when Giants With Stiff Fingers Walked The Earth.

Post 12,322 of the Mechanical Keyboard guide. Lol.

I have an NEC APC-H412 with NEC blue switches (I just found out . . .). Pulled it out of ewaste and cleaned it really well a few months ago.

It took nine nickels to get the key to register, but fifteen for it to click and drop down all the way. 9 and 15 was consistent for four keys I tested (s h n t).

Yes, the key responds before it clicks and drops the rest of the way.

FINALLY I have a Green ALPS number.

It's 10 nickels or 50g.

With a Linear Switch follow this method:
- Open up notepad
- Gently stack nickels (or coin of the realm)
- record when a keypress is registeredddddddddddddddddd

For example this is Ghetto Greens ( pull the tactile/click leaf on a Complicated ALPS but it'll be wobblier than a True Green).

EDIT: My old one had an actuation force of 45g, this one is 50g

I assumed nickels were exactly 5g and tested it that way, by stacking 14 nickels on top of various keys.

I would like others to see how many nickels they can stack on their keyboards (preferably your mechanical keyboards!) so I can get an idea of what weight is required to press them down.

Yes I know the required weight is listed in the "Mechanical Keyboard Guide", however I want real-world tests with people messing with nickels. Tell me what switch type you have and how many nickels it took to depress it!

Not being prejudice against other membrane users either, post also. smile.gif

some nickels are 4.9g
