Yes the motherboard CD will have the usb 2.0 drivers on them but i would try gettting all the most up to date drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer website.

I had same problem with my old mobo (SiS chipset)

after install windows I had to go into device manager and update the USB controller......when it asks for the new driver location make sure you have the mobo CD in the drive and point to it for windows to search for driver.

need to make sure you have the enhanced USB controller this is your USB 2.0 controller.

I tried all of that. Pointing it directly to the CD with the drivers, getting the newest chipset drivers, pointing it to the folder where the other USB devices have their drivers(so I know that the USB 2.0 driver is in there), absolutely nothing works. Is it possible to change a registry entry to alter the path for a driver for a specific device? That seems to be the only way to do it now.

i would install any drivers that came with the cd first then i would update drivers from the windows update site
