First Build Log!

jk.

I've bought all the parts thanks to you helpful pro users of OCN here.

[12-5-10]
Parts have arrived, feeling slightly panicky but reassuring my self it's just a giant lego kit.

ChenBox's internal organs have arrived!

MOAR STUFF!!!

I'm going to be building it on this desk with the carpet underneath. I've got an anti-static wristband, though, and I'll take off my socks, so it's OK, right? I suppose I could always move the rolley-chair mat to where I would be standing.

This is craPC. I will be replacing craPC with ChenBox. craPC is probably mad and will attempt to sabotage the posting of this thread.

READY!

SET!

GOGOGO!

Finally got it to mount correctly (after 3 tries)

WIRES!!! OHNOES

Needs an eye/GPU

One socket/hole thingy is missing. Is this intended?

Box inside a box...

With three moar boxes inside...

And a frickin' huge video card inside (you people call this SMALL???)

Moar wires...

(attempted) Cable management!

GOOD ENOUGH! IT BE DUN!

Monitor's nice and skinny, although I slightly regret not buying the VH236 that was $20 cheaper...

STARE-OFF!

Slightly unorthodox, but effective for testing.

Looks nice, the anti-static wrist band is garbage, as long as you ground your self on the case you will be fine.

Looking pretty good; is that a GM-M6800 mouse, it's a great one for the budget and the same one I use
I use an anti-static wrist band sometimes, better to be safe than sorry I guess

How fragile is a motherboard? Because I've accidentally poked it with a screwdriver a few times, and I had to push it a bit in order to make it fit with the ASUS Q-Shield.

And the crocodile clip on the wristband seems to have scratched the bottom of my case D:
Should I clip it to a metal cabinet/desk thing, or is the entire thing useless without the metal touching a source of electricity? PSU hasn't even been opened yet, because it's near the bottom of the First Build Tutorial.

Yep! $6 after rebate, and the right click looks like it actually works! (my craPC's mouse has a broken right click)

It's pretty durable, I scratched my motherboard once and nothing happened
