x800gto problem

I just built a new rig and everything but the pcie graphics is working. i put in a x800gto and it didnt work so i used my nvidia 5200 pci which did work. whenever i try using the ati card(by taking out the nvida card) there are 4 beeps and no picture. i tried both ports
Edit:2 short beeps and 8-10 long

This is an SLI motherboard? Please fill out system info, so we can assist better. I don't know what BIOS you have, so I don't know what your beep codes mean

Was this board used in SLI config before? There is a little card between the PCI-E slots; make sure that it is set on Default (I think), and not on SLI.

Also, do you have another rig to test your X800 on? Maybe a friend's?

The motherboard is ASrock 939Dual-sata2 its not sli, the computer was first started up yesterday. the beep code means that i have a problem with my video device. the bios are ami legal bios 2 something. there is no video controller on the motherboard.

amd athlon 64 3700+
1 gb ram
450 w psu

Test the video card in another computer.. it seems to me it might be faulty.
