Why is my computer so slow? - Page 2

i know how to use norton just fine, its a fact that it just sucks and the people who write these virus's write them so that norton and mcafee and any other top named av , wont pick them up..
norton
mcaffee
kaspersky ect are all for people who really dont know any better.

avg will catch and get rid of crap that the big av programs miss.

The problem seems to have gone away now. I'll keep an eye on it. I've already disabled messenger, but apparently you have to do some stuff to destroy msmsgs.exe for good. I'll look into it.

Solved the problem finally. Turns out Norton AV looks at instant messaging clients like microsoft. As long as it looks for it, msmsgs.exe lives. Turn off monitoring and it dies like a person with a 33mm hemmhorage.

A Virus undetected by the security could be the cause. Is the computer slower too? Did you change anything thing related to Timings/speed/frenquencies.... for DDRAM and Processor, did you do any major recent hardware changes? Maybe it's a corrupted Windows that is causing this, maybe a fresh install or repair installation could fix this.

Hah, my board has no overclocking capabilities, so no timing changes, lol. It's not a virus. My computer is fine now.

Or you could just try a system restore? Usually works for me if your using windows, and if you've enabled restores of course

He said his computer is fine now... stop telling him to change things!
