klipschs uses high quality parts and refined tweeters. they may not provide the wattage that amps can handle, but the sound that comes out of them is often so much sweeter.

if you want speakers that sound a lot better than the average speakers, you are looking into home entertainment systems, which is a whole new level. a good entertainment system can cost up to $5000 and while it will make your audio sound better...is it really worth it?

Why cant a PC be part of your Home Cinema system?
I regularly watch films on my PC, run throo TV out (would love to get a projector )
I mean if youve spent alot of $£ on your PC, its got a great sound card, great picture why not listen/watch on the best Audio/Visual kit you can afford?

I would love to get the Klipsch ProMedia Ultras but as i stated they don't exist in Australia "YET" which totally sucks balls.. maybe some Creative Speakers will do better then the Logitech's. Although i do like my X-530's quiet a lot, my girlfriend thinks they are the best, I'm always telling here they don't sound that great... 'But' considering how much i spent they are doing a rather nice job hehehehe, but then again i don't expect her to know much about my Audiphillic ways (not all the way there.. don't have the money for it)

well atleast i know when i go into night clubs, i am always rather frustrated by Muddy Bass, and distorting mid ranges.. so i go to the bar hoping to not notice as much later on in the night..

EDIT: Also I really like 5.1, i really can't stand 2.1... i've got room, and I absolutely LOVE my music coming from all areas of the room, generally set up better then all ym friends sets to be "surround" sounding so i can say ok that noise came from over there... but generally if you move about a foot in any direction the sound feild is whacked out of shape and you cna't tell where anything is coming from
Yup, the X530s are great for the price. Very nice volume and quality for $50 speakers. I've got a set, but haven't used my X-Fi yet. (Gotta wait till my birthday... *cry*)

because unless you are really looking out for it, chances are you will barely (if even) notice the slight improvement in sound. it's just like how most of us would not consider buying a new video card that costs $100 more if it only gave us 1-2 fps more. unless you are willing to throw out a grand, klipsch pro medai 5.1 or gigaworks 750 are more than enough to offer sound quality most pc users have ever dreamed of. hell...i spend most of my time in a studio, and i still love my gigaworks g500.
