After spending a few days OCing the P5LD2-VM I was finally able to get some insight into the tweaks required to get this rig running. I encountered some power issues--one of which is the need to make up a splitter for the 4pin square molex that helps power the mobo--I have the 24 pin splitters--but will need to fab the 4 pin--the Zeus PSU has an 8 pin to 4 pin adapter that makes me wonder if it would not be possible to tap the 4 unused leads of that 8 pin and get my split there. Not knowing enough to proceed safely I settled for powering a single mobo with a single PSU until I can determine how to safely split and power up two at a time--this will also give me the opportunity to load the HDD with the OS--which I can then ghost onto several HDDs, thus easing the overall installation of the required SW.
In short I want to get one just right--with all the SW and hardware ocnfigures correctly--then use that as a master to set up the next 3 mobos.
Above is a shot of the Uber1337 power and reset switched with integrated power and HDD LEDs--at $20 a pop I am glad they worked first time!
The Zalman is working great--providing lower than Mobo temps!
This is the 8 pin to 4 pin adapter provided with the PSU--I need to split this to power two boards from one PSU--I am wondering if it is as simple as tapping the 4 unused leads from the PSU to that 8 pin....
For the purposes of this test run (first time with an 805!) I am loading XP from CD and have an IDE HDD hooked up.
So far so good--I was able to jack the FSB to 147 from 133 and achieve a 2.93 OC on first boot!
