sg05 build... little advice plz

Thread Starter
hey guys,
I have been wanting to go for a sff itx build for about a year but currently owning a q6600 meant changing the cpu would realistically be a step sideways and a waste of money. However with sandy bridge coming out and supposedly being alot more energy efficient I'm hoping to upgrade my system.

I'm definitely going for the sg05 with the 450w psu but I need a little help deciding what components to go for in terms of what the psu can handle.
So far I have 1 hdd(7200rpm), intel ssd, optical drive, then the cpu+mobo (obviously they're not released yet so base this powerdraw on i5 750).

So based on those components what is the best gpu it will be able to handle, in the budget of around £150 - £200?
Also is there much difference in this case between a h50 and h70, in terms of cooling and noise?
And finally how good is this psu? I have seen a bunch of people mod the case to fit a full size psu but is that worth doing or will this suffice?

Thanks.

GTX460 (Possibly GTX560), HD6850, HD6870 would all be fine graphics options. The 450w PSU is a BEAST. Hell, on the 300w model I ran an i7 860 and HD5850 without issue. You will have no problems running a quad core and a performance mainstream graphics card with the 450w model.

You can make a H50 fit, but you won't be able to use the traditional hard drive mounts if you try to fit it within the case. Doing so will leave you space to mount a single 2.5" drive on the base of the case (and no internal optical drive). Alternatively it could be mounted on the side of the H50. Take a look at this picture to see how I installed the H50 into my SUGO05 (That is the 450w PSU, which I'm actually looking to sell right now ):

I don't mind having the hdd/optical drive external but I have seen a couple of builds where the case was modded to fit the hdd as well.
Btw is that 2 fans your using on your h50?

Two Scythe GentleTyphoon AP13s in a push-pull configuration It was a dead-silent build

That build is without modification to the SUGO. You COULD configure it with the H50 rad/fans externally positioned and accommodate more internal drives if you so desired.

Second StarYoshi's words about the PSU. I'm running a 250w in my build and I plan on upgrading soon to a q9550/9650 and a better graphics card. It will handle all of this just fine!

Also second his opinions on the GT AP-13s. I've got them running on my radiator right now and I can hear the pump over them. But it's still quieter than anything else in my house...

miahallen was able to get an i5 and 480 combo in an SG05 with the 450w psu. as the others have noted, its a strong power supply.

thanks for the reply guys
I got a couple questions about the h50 tho. Using the push pull config what speed were the fans running at to get them so quiet?
And also what kinda temps were you guys getting?
