It'll live for 100 years instead of 1000.

Hello and to the forums groo667,

If you have good cooling and the temperatures are kept decent and if you do not raise your voltages too high then you have no worry as it should easily outlast your need for it.

One can not give a hard and fast answer to your question but it has been my experience that a decently created overclock will not shorten the needful life of a system. You will have your system for less than five years and that processor if kept to decent limits (see above) should last 5 - 10 years easily.

As mentioned it does depend on a few factors but I have had a 3000+ winnie only last about a year after I had it at around the 1.7 vcore mark on water with load temps of no higher than 50C. Maybe I was unlucky, you never really can tell.

From what I've seen you will only get around 2.3-2.5 without a voltage increase.

You will have to increase the voltage to get those kind of speeds.

2.6 GHz to 2.8GHz?? Lol you won't lose anything, you don't have to change Vcore (voltage) I have an intel inside Pentium 4 650 from 3,4 to 3,74 and to 4.0 GHz sometimes, I can make the jump from 3,4 to 3,8 just by changing the FSB only.
