The problem with the Yonah build is the following:

1. Lack of cooling support
2. Lack of motherboards, (that Aopen will not overclock pack 2.8Ghz)
3. 32 bit only.

For the kind of money you are looking at, wait until July, and get yourself a serious Conroe rig.

The so called "Anti-HT" is a myth, and with little value as all new software is multithreaded.

There is no reason for the Conroe to have these overclocking problems. It has more stage pipelines than AMD and Core Duo. The more stage pipelines, the better the overclock. You are starting a pitifull rumor to attempt to maintain the status quo, something similiar to what that crazy Iraqi guy did, "The US military is not in Bagdag, we have defeated them."

Compared to the excellent AMD K8/Hammer architecture, the Core CPU is simply a wider, more efficient and more out of order CPU.

Memory disambiguation should push the current limits of ILP in integer loads a lot higher, and the massive bandwidth that the L1 and L2 can deliver should help Core to come close to the execution utilization percentages of the current P-M. 33% more execution potential could thus come very close to 33% more performance, clock-for-clock.
