x86 Installation Errors!

Alright before I get started i'd like to say that i've tried disconnecting/swaping extra hardware components, as well as running various tests, which none of them have given me any errors confirming that one my hardware components may be bad. I've also used various installation disks of Windows XP and Linux distributions which are built for 32-Bit processors and I cannot seem to get any of them to work. They either, 1. Run the installation half way through, or 2. reboot my computer, 3. Hang, or 4. Give me some asinine error. I've tried every possiable manoeuver and i still cannot fix this problem! The only Operating Systes that I am able to run is currently Windows XP Professional x64 Final. I know for a fact that this cannot possiably be a damaged disk nor a bad file. Because they all seem to sun fine one my older system, which is running a AMD Athlon 1700+.

Recently I tried the installion of Windows XP Professional and instead of it just rebooting my system or hanging, i actually obtained yet another asinine error. Except this time it took me bu intrest. Because there are NUMEROUS complaints about with within various forums, although none of them seem to resolve the issue.

But with hope, one of you make know how to resolve this issue... If you can. YOU ARE GOD, i'll be your b*tch for a month.

This is the following error obtain during the installation of Windows XP Professional x86:

BSOD

Quote:
STOP: C000021 Uknown Hard Error
\\SystemRoot\\System32\
tdll.dll

Please help , it really sucks having an operating system which is incompatiable with a lot of older/newer software...

looking on the net the only things i have found to cure this problem was to copy the corrupted file ntdll.dll from the cd to "\\SystemRoot\\System32\
tdll.dll" on your hard drive.i also read that it could be memory related but i think its just a corrupted file

I took your advice and made a copy of ntdll.dll off my windows disk that I'm currently trying to install with. However, when i try to overwrite it, it still seems to be running within another process. I've tried it booted in safemode with command prompt as well. Is there a way to defeat this?
