Got a 950 with C1 Stepping - Page 3

I'm wondering if aside from running your RAM with 4-4-4-12 timings, have you also given them a 2.1v, 2.2v and 2.3v dimm for stability?

As you can see I'm using 2.3vdimm but I lowered to 2.2v and it works with that voltage as well.

My stock voltage for my memory is 1.8 volts, how far can I safely increase this?

My memory though at 1:1 is running less than stock speed, @ 540. At stock it is 667 so shouldn't the memory already be stable being underclocked?

1.8v is not good for when OC'ing. Try a 2.1v and then crank it up if needed.

I know with a 3:5 you're going to have to do at least 2.1-2.2 and 2.3 for max if not stable at 2.2.

Woo Hoo!! Finally broke 300! : ) Good call Nasgul. I'll see how far I can go. Memory at 2.1volts, how high do you think I can take CPU cor volt. I think the c1 stepped cpus have a lower max volt than the b1s. Not sure though, cant find any definite documentation. I'm at 1:1 ratio still.

The C1 has the same everything pretty much, just use's less power, a B1 950 would produce 130w while the C1 will only produce 95, also the temp threshold is less which is around 62c down from 68c. And of course EIST.

Nice job by the way.

This is fun to watch. I think you can pull it up to 4.6

Hmmm...got it up 307 but I cant get it to reboot windows and its starting to get a bit hot, around 45 c at idle, I have eist turned off and TM off as well.

Hey Nasgul, 2.3 volts is the max setting in the bios for memory voltage, are you sure it is safe to put it up that high?

Actually I have noticed something kind of wierd, CPU-Z and AI Booster and everest can give a different clock speed reading. Sometimes one of them will show the multiplier dropping down to 12 with the clock speed dropping with it but other monitoring programs open at the ame time dont show this.

He already did Post # 14.

2.3v is safe, well at least I've pulled it off while overclocking but my RAM is rated @ 2.2v and that's what I have it at. But 2.3v is safe, most fellas at other forums run theirs at either 2.1 and 2.2, my guess 2.3 for the extra insurance.

As for the multi going down to x12, maybe it's because you still need to disable C1E.

My memory is rated at 2.1V and I run it at 2.3V and it's not even very warm.
The Stilt at XS took his up to 2.9V with active cooling on it, but utlimately it depends on what chips are on your memory will determine how well than can take extra voltage.

Need better cooler for 333FSB, I dont want to take it past 55 C. Had it up to 4.8ghz with 306FSB but it would need more voltage to complete all PCmark05 benchmarks and was getting too hot. Watercooler and peltier will be on its way. : )

The multi dropping thing is related to C1E, proberly not meant to be able to see it happening but some programs show it and some dont.
