is this a good peltier?

take a look at this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...category=67861. At least, that one is similar in every aspect except for the watts it consumes. Another one I found was rated at 245/320 Watts. We can't have a bunch of people bidding on one thing, can we =p lol

Would I get a significant decrease in my cpu temp with this, and would I be able to cool down the hot side with my blue orb2?

I'm new to the whole idea of using a peltier. So, I'd just like some clarification. My understanding is, basically, that it takes the heat from one side, and it transfers it to the other side.

Ya, you've got the idea. Problem is, the pelt makes its own heat also. So you need one at least capable of moving the amount of heat the cpu will produce, say 100w. The pelt makes its own heat, say 100w. you now have 200w of heat to remove from the hot side of the pelt, and thats just to get balance the heat load, if you want the cpu cooler than a heatsink, you will need to move more heat than the cpu produces. Chances are, there isn't a heatsink effective enough or reasonably sized to handle the heat of the cpu plus the pelt. Water cooling is the way to do it with a large sized pelt.
