just hit enter instead of typing install - that loads the default kernel

If it happened on both Fedora and Ubuntu something is wrong with your setup. Maybe a wrong step somewhere, but I have personally installed both those with no problems. It could possibly be a problem exclusively with your system, I dont know, but it isn't a coincidence that it happens on Fedora and Ubuntu.

Have you tried installing Ubuntu 6.06 Beta? If that works you could use it for a month then do a dist-upgrade to full.

Well fedora works on my other computer, but i just tried ubuntu on my other computer but it didn't even show the install screen and go to windows directly so I don't know man. Well anyways it doesn't really matter, guess I would just stick with windows I guess. Do you know how to intalled mac os x x86?

That sounds like your BOOT priority is wrong.

If it is set to boot to the HD first, it will never look at the install CD in your drive. Check your BOOT settings in BIOS. Your CD/DVD drive should be set as the 1st choice if you want to install a new OS. Making the HD 1st speeds up booting into an established OS, but you have to change it to install from a CD.

I know them **** so don't need to worry. If i would have set the harddrive first it wouldn't even go to the install screen because it is gonna skip the cd but now it goes to the install screen and I press enter and did install and enter but both doesn't work so I don't know *** is going wrong so **** that. I quit. I just use windows for now until I can afford a new computer or something.

first I boot up unbuntu on my first computer which is this one I am using right now. And I press enter and it start to load and then a couple of seconds it rebooted my computer and start all over to the install screen again. I have this problem with fedora too so I don't now what happen so **** that. Then I tried ubuntu on my other computer which successfully booted fedora before so i thought it was gonna work so I tried to boot up ubuntu and it shows the bios screen then a black screen with no image and then it just go directly to windows so I don't know what the hell happen. I know that the cd is boot first in the bios or else it won't boot fedora when i inserted it so it is not that so I don't know why so bull that. Well anyways I don't care anymore.
