I've gone with plywood just because of the contrary thing. I love plywood edges
It looks terrible if you can't finish them sorta "polished" because they tend to break into bits pretty easily when hacksawing them.
I'm gonna end it up with another layer of glossy transparent varnish. That way all the case takes a glossy, but not-so-bright tone that from what I've seen on the top panel, it looks certainly good.
Probably later in the future I'll redo the frontal panel in order to hide those edges. I didn't take into account the fact that side panels were gonna get on top of it, but still it doesn't look terrible, so it'll might stay like that
