Ok guys, there is discussion about making some changes to the TC and I wanted to get your guys input on them. Nothing is set in stone yet, but here is something that is being kicked around. I want to get your guys input before I open my hole.

(McCabe Nod)Let me point out how hard it is to re-structure this competition following the previous principles we once adhered to for fairness due to the overwhelming spread in points between the mid to high GPU's folding Core 17 units! Categories:
The 30k limit on Wildcard is soft. A certain few may exceed 30k. Wildcard CPU is essentially a Cat3 re-brand. Wildcard GPU is basically the GPU's that are in the current Wildcard with a few AMD and nVidia GPU's being added that fall into the specified PPD range.Hardware Debate:
- i7 (All Sandy, Ivy, Sandy E, and Haswell)
- nVidia 1 (670, 680, 690, 770, 780)
- nVidia 2 (470, 480, 570, 580, 590)
- AMD GPU (7870, 7850, 7950, 7970)
- Wildcard GPU (All GPU's from 15-30k)
- Wildcard CPU (All CPU's from 15-30k)
We were a little unclear on where to place the following GPU's
The initial thought is to put them in nVidia 2. 560ti can be just over 30k, so possibly put it into Wildcard GPU?Mergers/Inactive Teams:
We've identified teams with 0-2 people who have folded this month, and are without an active Team Captain. If you disagree with this list, just let us know.
Those teams are:
We discussed making about 4 of these 6 teams inactive hence requesting their members to align with another team. These teams would be placed on an inactive list until a new Team Captain is found that can produce a full team of 6 folders, or potentially giving this new Team Captain the option to create a brand new team. We feel this option may produce more interest and a feel for starting something new that's slightly more exciting than joining an old team you may not even like the name of.
- The IT Crew
- Just Be Cause
- The PPD Police
- Birds of Prey
- The Royal Navy
Our deadline to put these TC Changes, and the modifications we debate on up until August 15th is the month of September TC which starts on September 1st, 2013!
One more thing. We will be launching another referral contest that will run for 30 days that starts on September 1st, 2013. We're working with OCN and our Folding Community to obtain prizes for the contest. I'm seeing a lot of talk about a 7850 potentially being the top prize, but that's not yet confirmed. We've ran one of these before. The format will remain unchanged except for the contest will only run for 30 days instead of 60. Here is last years thread for the contest which actually did fill TC, and landed a few Division III folders as well. http://www.overclock.net/t/1295434/official-team-competition-referral-contest-win-prizes-ends-october-31st
Oh and 1 last thing, we're pretty made up on adding new hardware right away that's similar specifications as the previous generation, so we won't be having ongoing debates like we have in the past. If we do debate, there will be a time limit, and then a decision will be made by the TC Editor.
Yes, I've requested my Folding Editor status back. We have a team of 3 currently able to be active Editors. Donkey1514, anubis1127, and unofficially myself. axipher is out right now with serious RL battles, but I'm sure he will return when things settle. The other guys.... I have no idea why they still have Editor tags to be quite honest. They have not been able to do anything for several months. I know tator tot has been working on that forever! OCN's stance is people become inactive at times, but they may come back when they're able. I suppose a simple thread listing the Folding Staff that's inactive/active shared with the public should help. I miss most of those guys. I wish they could help, and from time to time they may in the future.
So what you guys think? Seems like Stanford is focusing on GPU's, so having 3 CPU based categories is a pain. This will allow teams to have 2 CPU's and 4 GPU's.
