I would try it out. There is no harm in changing the settings and if it doesn't work you can change them back immediately. Looks like the guys having the issues with OCZ were mostly AMD guys, you never know what will happen because you have an entirely different set up. I bet if you enable XMP things will run properly. I agree OCZ isn't great RAM, but there is no harm in trying and it may save you some money.
