Update-

Well guys have I told you that I hate painting! gunner.gif

I taped off the stripes with the green tape and sprayed some black today smile.gif

I think I used the wrong primer ( I know I did frown.gif ) and some paint came off with the green tape I used. Three pieces turned out nice and I applied clear coat to these. The other 2 had some issues with paint coming off with the tape and the rear window panel had serious issues and needs to be redone.

I'm hoping that I can touch up the two messed up ones somehow and make it look good without redoing everything.

You guys wanna see the good pictures (success!) or the bad (meh) first?

sorry to hear your paint got messed up. Im sure you will make it look good though.
Can't wait to see it finish, and of course you know when you are done you have to take a video of you playing it.

Here's me taping off the two rear side pieces for the stripes. I totally spaced on putting the MKG-RC1 in the stripe. I may just use half of the sticker on the front side pieces. one of these rear side pieces turned out great but the other had some paint peelage ><
I forgot to take pic of the good one but I will tomorrow.

Now for the bad picts frown.gif

This is worse than it looks >< (top piece)
dscn0456n.jpg

sooo dissapointing..
dscn0457l.jpg

This piece was total fail. I just barly touched the tape down just a little bit out of alignment and this is what happened when iIpulled the tape off. I will be sanding this one down and redoing- the orange engine enamel did not stick to the kiltz primer worth a damn- I shouldv'e used auto primer (because of the auto engine paint I ended up using) but I primered it long time ago when I hadn't even decided how to paint it.

dscn0458a.jpg

I'm scared to put on the big MadKat sticker because I'm afraid that the clear stick backing will peel off orange paint ><
but scroll back up the screen and look at the pictures of the ones that turned out nice and imagine the end of this project wink.gif

What you probably need to do is to wait about a week and then wetsand the spray paint. Then the tape won't have as much to hold on to. The areas where the tape ripped off paint were likely very thick and meaty with lots of microscopic ripples for the tape to grab.
