CFO David White leaves Nvidia
Written by Fudzilla staff

After a decade of service Nvidia Chief Financial Officer David White has decided to call it quits and leave the chipmaker after a ten-year tenure.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang issued a statement thanking White for his contribution to the company. Huang said he was grateful for White’s counsel and leadership, which comes as no surprise considering Nvidia’s success over the past decade.

Corporate controller Karen Burns will take over as interim CFO once White leaves the company in late May, Huang added. White cited personal reasons for his decision.

Personally, I have my cards spaced out by putting my bottom card in the last PCI-E slot and have not had any issues with it, performance or otherwise. HardOCP did a series of tests and found very small differences when lowering the PCI-E bandwidth:

http://hardocp.com/article/2010/08/2...16x16_vs_x4x4/
http://hardocp.com/article/2010/08/2...16x16_vs_x8x8/
http://hardocp.com/article/2010/08/1...6x16_vs_x16x8/

Only at very high resolutions will you see bandwidth have a measurable effect on performance. A single 1080p resolution monitor will not reveal much.
Well Changing the fan speed in afterburner helped a bit. Got it set to change 1 for 1.with it being 40% at 30C and 100% at 90c. So now my temps are
Idle GPU1 55
Load GPU1 67
IDLE GPU2 40
Load GPU2 61

And my idea to split my cards up wont work with this motherboard i have. The last PCI-E slot with a card in it would cover up alot of the ports for my front buttons/ports and the power and reset button on the mobo. As well that last slot is also the last slot on my case so could only fit a single slot cooler there.

There any aftermarket coolers for the GTX570 that leave it at a dual slot cooler vs becoming a 3 slot like the AC Accelero Extreme?

Ambient( Siting next to comp) i got 26C
IDLE GPU1-69C LOAD-86
IDLE GPU2-43C LOAD-78

Now this is all on stock clocks nothing changed. With both of the cards in the slots right next to each other. I have the middle case fan directly under the GPUS on high. With pretty good cable management. I can put one GPU in the last slot to space them out but it goes from being 16x/16x/1x to 16x/8x/8x with my mother board. if i want to used that last spot for a GPU.

Do those temps sound about right? Will i lose much if i go for the 2nd option and space them out? is the lost worth it to keep temps down to actually OC?
Tarthal, you could use MSI afterburner and bring down the clocks of the OCd card to reference clocks as the other card and see whether you could compare the temps. If necessary bring down the voltage also in par with the other card's reading.

If this gives any better results, you could think of modifying your VBIOS permanently on the OCd card. (But that is if you don't mind the OCd card running at reference clocks only) Since you are trying SLI I don't think you will loose much on performance on the OCd card.

I have a feeling that this should bring down your present temps to be in par with your reference card. Try it and post your results..

Yeah, he does. It can take a week or so sometimes. Depends on how busy he is. He goes through all posts from where he left off and adds a bunch of them at a time.

That's why I've been watching the posts and letting those who don't know about having their OCN name on the screen shot for proof to make corrections before he gets through them. He can't add them otherwise.

Say while I have everyones attention. Go to this post here and vote for Nvidia. Poll closes soon and don't want AMD to win this one. I know being as passionate as we are with our cards and how we feel.
