Mine is @ 850 with 1.075v and maxed at 66C in Vantage.

Do you have a custom fan profile? Mine ramps up one % fan per 1C.
Hey at 875 Core I idle at about 43-44C when gaming in Crysis I hit 81C. That's normal temps for GTX 580. Not a problem until you hit 90C, I wouldn't worry.

Under normal stock I idle 41-42C and hit 80C in Crysis.

I play that game at 1920x1080p AA x16 Full screen btw.

I idle at 24C in my basement.

Highest load I've seen was 66C with the 850 OC.

Overall this card seems cooler than my 570. Idles lower, runs cooler in games.

Pffff, GTX 570.

I was running 1.1v @ 900, but running 1.05v @850. It seemed stable (I miss OCCT for error checking) but just ran hot. I flashed with the unlocked fan BIOS and created a custom fan profile; it will ramp up to 85% @ 90*C. I'm going to run more Heaven benchmarks to see how the temps look.

An hour of Heaven and it topped out at 80*C. MUCH happier now. Even with the fan at 75% the noise really isn't that bad, more air noise than motor whine.

I know right. The fan on the 500 series is actually surprisingly quiet for what it does.

I had a 6870 before for about 3 months and god damn was that thing loud as all hell above 50%!

My 580 just makes a gentle whooshing noise. Much happier now.

Strongly considering getting rid of the 570s, Getting a Direct CU 580/GTX 260 for Physx ( already have the 260....

You idiot! Why would you do such a thing?! I keed, I keed.

I love my 580, but why would you choose the DCUII over say the 580 Lightning? Aside from saving 25$?

The Lightning is dual slot so it makes SLi down the road a bit easier.

Or would a single 580 be as far as you go with it?

Is there anything wrong with how the 570s are treating you?

You turned!

Good choice imo. And the dcuii is a good choice if you like to not actually hear the cooler. Still maxes at around 30% here, and then its well beneath the stock 570 temps at stock speeds.

Why did I think your had three 570's? Hmmmmm. Anyway, the Asus is great with a Phsyx card but will take up to 3 slots away. I know you know this. The Lightning as Blackbalt89 suggested is an equivalent quality non-reference card runs just as cool. Like he said you can run it with a Physx card and leave the door open for an SLI later with Physx or Tri SLI if your insane enough or have the juice. LOL.

Oh Baclkbalt89, I think I have my voltage at 1.1 because my max VDDC on GPU-Z is max at 1.076 today as I was monitoring my kids while playing RIFT. So I believe I had flashed it with th BIOS provided by EVGA, hence why I'm getting those higher core clocks. Would I be right in this assumption?

I know I flashed it with the fan unlocker and mine is set as follows with a curved sliding scale as opposed to steps up:
40C - 45%
50C - 56%
60C - 67%
70C - 78%
80C - 89%
90C - 100%

I have it working harder as the temp climbs by 1% each 10C.

Nothing wrong with the 570s at all.. Just idk. idk why Im thinking about it. Its just one of those things . + that Asus 580 is so sexy, and will max every game and overclock like a champ..
See thats my problem with my 570s if I had one. Im terrified of them ( Ive pushed both of them to 1.2 v, no fires ) But I want to know I can do that every single day ... I dont feel like that
