Like he said you can run it with a Physx card and leave the door open for an SLI later with Physx or Tri SLI if your insane enough or have the juice. LOL.

Oh Baclkbalt89, I think I have my voltage at 1.1 because my max VDDC on GPU-Z is max at 1.076 today as I was monitoring my kids while playing RIFT. So I believe I had flashed it with th BIOS provided by EVGA, hence why I'm getting those higher core clocks. Would I be right in this assumption?

I know I flashed it with the fan unlocker and mine is set as follows with a curved sliding scale as opposed to steps up:
40C - 45%
50C - 56%
60C - 67%
70C - 78%
80C - 89%
90C - 100%

I have it working harder as the temp climbs by 1% each 10C.
You know that's not too bad of an idea. Although my 570 seemed to crank out more FPS the warmer it ran. I'm wondering if my 580 is the same.

See thats my problem with my 570s if I had one. Im terrified of them ( Ive pushed both of them to 1.2 v, no fires ) But I want to know I can do that every single day ... I dont feel like that
Yeah I feel you with the 570s. Mine was never even pushed past 1.1v but it was always in the back of my head that my 570 could explode one day out of nowhere. That's why I stepped up.

Whatever 580 you get you will definitely be happier knowing it has more robust VRMs and the likes.

One nice little perk with the ASUS GTX 580 it comes with a back plate already. EVGA you have to buy it. Other cards don't even offer the option. I also concur it's a nice card. Good luck with your purchase.

Buy the 580 and use the 570 as Physx if you don't need to sell it to get the 580. Sure it's over kill Physx but isn't that why it's our hobby?

I'm starting to do a little side savings for my second GTX 580 to SLI hopefully be mid-summer OR wait to buy the GTX 680 in January if it's a huge increase in performance and use the 580 as a Physx card...

The grass will always be greener on the other side. If you're not hurting for money and can find a use for it, go for it.

Sadly, I'm always getting bitten by the same upgrade bug too. Once I upgrade something and get my rig the way I want it, I find something else I want to upgrade. My latest obsession is getting my air cooling down pat... again... for the umpteenth time. My wallet just can't help but

I think you just spoke in behalf for a lot of us here on OCN.... IS there a 'computer upgrade' clinic we can attend like an AA meeting? I might need one myself to keep me from upgrading to a P67 B3 board and chip.

But see that is exactly it.. Im trying to be sensible here, SLI 570s is mad overkill for me. A single 580 would be great.. But the fact is I already have the 570s, which pwn..
My biggest worry is I will get the one 580, and want another one..
Why the *u*k couldnt you guys tell me to keep the 570s..'

I had 8 different GTX 470s total, a few 460s, and a 480 for about an hour.. I know full well what they do.

Someone needs a hug. If I was you with two GTX 570's I'd hang to see how 600 series are going to turn out. Remember it's no longer FERMI and usually the new line of architecture may have road bumps before being ironed out. I have a feeling we won't see those boards mature until the 700 series.

Where as the 580's are the first time all 512 cores are unlocked. Finally mature to be more efficient, less power consumption and in turn less heat dissipation than the GTX 480 where all the cores weren't even used.

I'd love to tell you to keep the 570's, but I just can't bring myself to do it...
