Thanks!

I'd have to concur that for an Asus non-reference cooling card you should be lower in temps than my EVGA GTX 580 reference card.

At stock clocks I idle 41-42C and gaming full throttle I've never passed 81C. I naturally have my EVGA Percision software set to manual fan settings as follows on the curve.

40C-45%
50C-56%
60C-67%
70C-78%
80C-89%
90C-100%

Somthing is a miss on your card. Do you have your fan settings manually set? I know on 'Auto' it just dosen't seem to cool properly on any cards. I had the same issue with the last card AMD 6870. The 'Auto' fan just dosen't fan well in relation to heat being dispersed off the card.

Is your rig properly being air cooled? The air off those cards dump into your case and without a good airflow can raise temps but still not to the level your getting. Are you overclocked or is that stock setting for the temp your getting? Hmmmmm.

My fan settings are manually set, and during gaming I get into the low 70'sC with the fans at 30-34%, so it's pretty reasonable considering I'm oc'd to 900MHz. My case is pretty well cooled, I have 2 x 120mm Scythe's at the front and another at the rear. The metal fan grills are removed , as are the dust filters, and I game/bench with the front door of the case open.

It's just strange that I get such high temps when stress testing, even with the fans manually set to 100%......problem is, here in The Netherlands I have to RMA via the shop I bought it from, and past experience tells me that they probably won't consider an RMA if the problem only occurs when stress testing a large overclock!

Anyone see this post? Asetek's closed loop 580 cooling.

Curious as to how this would work along with the stock centrifugal fan.

I wish they'd just make one that was single slot and closed loop.

Dude my Arctic Accelero Xtreme Plus Cooler does better than that in all test. And it is very quite. My Heaven test score at 850/1700 was 1606.

Trust me this cooler is awesome.

But it also takes up 3.5 slots. Lol.

I'd be interested in that closed loop thing for SLi.

Can't SLi on this board using Accelero Xtreme.

I saw their results and they looked much lower than mine as well. I'm thinking they had everything maxed. As opposed to select options on high like used for benching.

It was appreciated, don't get me wrong.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't such a n00b when I built this PC. Sabertooth was not the best choice for SLi'ing 580s.

It's my problem, not yours. Don't think I was mad. Lol.

Yeah, I made the Sabertooth X58 choice myself. Great military grade mobo without a ton of bells and whistles that I don't need at a great price btw.

Only down sides is if you SLI you lose a slot to add a sound card or tv tuner card option. You also can't SLI a card that takes up 3 slots.

The power supply in my CoolerMaster HAF 912 mid-tower case forces me to use the two top PCIe slots which will sandwich my next card without any space in between. I'm going to SLI eventually next summer and will be worried about temp issues by suffocating the top card from any air.

I hear ya. The Sabertooth had what I wanted without being absurdly expensive. Only problem was that I thought I was going to be happy with the 6870 that I had originally.

Short answer: it blew donkeys. Had to upgrade to a 570, and when I was at the 570 I said screw it, "Go big or go home". And now here I am.

OCN is not good for your wallet, especially if you didn't intend to spend ~$2000 on a PC.

At least I pwn BFBC2 in framerates and I smile when I see my 580 max Vsync on Crysis 2 with stock clocks.
