Had another go at 4ghz today, had exactly what happened to you happen to me. Crashed out about at the sub scene or a little later, no driver crash message. To be fair I've never played Crysis or used their bench, though.
I don't know man. This chip can't be degrading that fast. Since I OC'd it it's seen on most maybe 300 hours of use. This computer doesn't get used all that much. And max temp was 61C on the hottest core.
The thing leading me to believe that it was a driver related thing was there are only a few instances where the GPU clock speed drops to 0. And that's a driver failure.
This rig has made many passes at benchmarks and stress tests and not one of them has failed. :/ Maybe it's just the sub scene. Same OC worked fine the second pass at the sub, all I did was run GPU at stock.

Yes and you're running SLi. So your 50/2 ='s my 25.
I don't think it's worth it to drop another $500 just to get decent min FPS. It almost feels like there's a conservative VRAM limiter or something. It caps at around 1,510 and just hovers there while FPS hovers damn near rock solid at 25 most of the time. It's almost unbearable.
