For what it's worth, this DX11 upgrade has actually caused my system to hard lock on a black screen with my overclock, which required a full system reboot. When playing the game before the upgrade, I ran my current clocks just fine without a hitch in every game I played. I had to back down to stock clocks in order to get it to play right, and even then I'm getting flickering problems that are associated with multiple GPU's.
Apparently, this will require waiting for the next set of beta drivers from Nvidia before this is playable in Surround. All I can say is that for me, and those who have similar setups to mine, this upgrade was not ready for prime time just yet.
And as far as I know if it was CPU overclock related it would happen in other games and applications as well. I played Mafia II for 2 hours before trying out the new patches for Crysis 2 and it never stuttered once. But as soon as I turn on my OC on the 580 all hell breaks loose in Crysis 2 world.
Does anyone think it's GPU instability? Game black screens during Crysis 2 while still playing sound but never specifically mentions Nvidia driver error which I got before from an unstable OC in Vantage.
I thought that if it was a bad CPU OC it would blue screen or something to that effect. It didn't fail when doing the CPU tests in Vantage which should have put it over the edge.
And I see the GPU clocks hitting rock bottom but no error log on screen. Is there another place to look for error logs?
