@ Blackbalt89

Unsure of what would be causing the difference, other than perhaps the fact that I ran the benchmark in Nvidia Surround mode and not Single Monitor Performance mode. Could also be that I have a ton of stuff going on the background, haven't reformatted since... well... since windows 7 first came out.

Ram is running at 843 MHZ, 8-8-8-24-2T. Will try running 3DMark11 in single monitor performance mode real quick.

Edit: Ran it again in single monitor performance mode, achieved similar results, 11600 or so over two runs. I can only guess it has everything to do with the fact that this install of windows started off as an LGA 775 Q6600 and has migrated to a 1366 I7-950... and on top of that, the install is from, quite literally, the day windows 7 came out. Something like this in the past would have driven me insane, but I just don't have the time, nor will to do a complete re-install of windows 7 for 600 points.

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has picked up an EVGA GTX 570 2.5gb (2560mb)?

Do I sense the upgrade itch again?

The way these drivers are driving me crazy, possibly. Researching right now though

Had I known the 570 2.5gb was going to be out, I may have still been w/ the green team

To be fair, the Surround drivers are pretty hit and miss too, but I understand what you mean though.

It doesn't really seem like the 570 2.5GB card is all that popular - either because it's not as widely known like you said, or it's pricing is just in that murky gray area.

However, if you do end up buying it (them ), you may have to go back to EK for the non-reference blocks though, assuming they fit.

That's what I'm researching right now. Based on the coolingconfigurator.com, ek is developing a block for the 570 SC (012-p3-1573-kr, fan is the in middle and power connectors are on the back). I emailed them and I posted in the evga forums to see if the vram are designed like the 580 3gb, just using the same number of chips but double the density. I know I've had a long and crappy history with ek but I don't mind giving them another try if they can offer me some sort of discount on copper versions of the blocks. Hopefully, these 570s are running better vrm modules.

Btw, nvidia 2D surround was so smooth and buttery to run. I'm pulling my hair out just trying to get things to work with my current setup. One thing gets fixed, another fudges up

Good to know about the EK block in development. Let us know what you find out, as I'm sure 570 HD users would find it useful.

It has been a while since I have heard of a 570 dying, so it seems that the issue may be under control now. I think you would be OK in this regard.

Sorry to hear about your driver issues. I had the same experience when I owned an HD5970, which required me to juggle driver revisions just to play the games I wanted to play. I wrote about this in December of last year (http://www.overclock.net/graphics-ca...-thrilled.html), but it's sad to see that things haven't really changed for those who genuinely do have issues.
