Sorry for even having posted before re-checking. Now highest temp was 76C.
Glad to see it was an easy fix.

I just want to say good luck to all of my East Coast OCN brothers and sisters! Power outages and flooding seem to be imminent now with Hurricane Irene slowly making its way to NJ, so it's time to start shutting down the important stuff.

See you all in a day or so! Stay safe everyone!

is it common for a GTX550ti to hit 72c running iTunes Visualizer at full screen? i leave it running a lot because my kids love the pretty colors. is 72c not worth worrying about? (specs say up to 100c), it just seems warm for what essentially seems like a glorified screen saver.

Not dangerous by any means, but it does seems a bit warm for what you're doing.

Not that I'd want any Apple software running on my PC..

but
1. they have a history for overheating with older versions.
2. If they don't v-sync, your GPU is running at the fastest pace possible. with simple workloads this could cause a lot of stress, remember the SC2 v-sync debacle.
