For those of you who wants to update to the latest 285 beta drivers, I had to up the voltage a notch on both my cards or it wasn't stable in 3d mark 11. I did get a P300 point increase though.

hmm didnt have to touch the voltage for mine. Maybe its an SLI thing.
I figured I would mention this. Using the 266.58 drivers, with my setup, I was idling at 305-310W just doing regular desktop duties and surfing the web. With the new 285.27 beta drivers, I am now idling at 290-295W. It seems like Nvidia has made good process in fixing/optimizing the p-states.

Although it does take a slight bump in voltage to maintain stability during load when overclocking now, the reduction in idle power consumption is very good since my computer is not in a constant loaded state anyway.

Every little bit counts for the electric bill when there are three desktops running at any one time.

It's really really getting to me, the buzzing is so annoying
i'll just drive tomorrow and replace it hehe thanks for ur help ur awesome
well i called the store, they dont have any corsair but they got the SEASONIC X-850
will it be fine? it's the same price as my current psu, but i heard seasonic are good ;p
will it be enough for the 580 gtx? not planing on sli.
An 850watt is plenty for what you are currently doing. Plus, if you plan to SLI in the future, the 850 will cover an additional card. So the option is there, which is always nice.

I seen you had mentioned that Corsairs were a little pricey. I thoroughly enjoy mine. Here is an idea of what you would be looking for:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139022

Plus you get 10% off with a promo code today, as well as a mail in rebate for further savings.

If you do not plan on ever going SLI I recommend:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139020

If you want modular they have the same models in that version, however, you will pay a little extra.

Enjoy

So I finally placed my pick up order with Microcenter for a ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z, 2600K, and a 8GB kit of Corsair Dominator GT 2000MHz all for $704 after the 20% RAM coup.

They're running a deal where you get $80 off a Z68 mobo when buying a 2600k. I said screw it. And I know I can get decent RAM for much lower than $120 after coup but I like my Dominators. They feel solid and they have an excellent warranty. Oh and a fan.

Good price for everything? I might even flop the stuff if I don't feel it's necessary.

Red is sexy. Congrats!

Haha, so you're the one who bought the only MIV-Z. Sadly, I've been stalking that site for a few weeks now, and it's so tempting to upgrade. Must... hold... off...

I feel bad for stealing it from you.

Once I saw the MIV pop up along with the $80 off deal I had to have it. And the RAM gets better priced because of the $80 off. Lol.

At least now you can't spend the money to get the MIV-Z...yet.

I did you a favor. Maybe?

I really hope they take the RAM coup from me. I'm worried about the empty email field lol.

They'll take it, Make sure to try to get that 20% off your mobo as well. Might not be able to with the $80 dollar off promo, worth a shot though.
