My cards at only 900 give me scores similar to some people in this thread and the Metro 2033 benchmark thread at clocks of over 950MHz.

Maybe I'm not doing something right.

Safe to push 1.15v for benching 3D Mark 11 and Metro 2033? Yes?

Should I hook up one of the Molexs to my board for added stability?
On the stock cooler? Could be done but crank up the fans to 75-92%. I can pass metro and 3d11 @ 955 @ 1.150v, anything higher and it crashes or artifacts.

Yeah stock cooler. Fan unlocking was never done so max fan speed will be 85% which works fine for benching since temps won't get that high with this spacing.

I'm looking to get maybe 925-940. My bottom 580 is an absolute dog (580 I received from Step Up ). The top card can do 900 with less volts but it makes afterburner more confusing so I just keep them at the same voltage.

Bottom card needed 1.088v to do 850MHz and would crash 900MHz with every voltage step under 1.125v.

My card at 1.0880v I have 24/7 @875 core with no problem.

My 580 SC has a 1.0880v default stock voltage. To get mine @923 core(my highest attempt of OC) I had to bump to 1.100v. Haven't tried higher.

For some reason I must have gotten the runt of the litter with my bottom 580.

She won't do 900 on anything other than 1.125v. :/

Might not even do any more even with 1.15v.

this is my first time with a high-end video card, the GTX 570. i have been playing around with oc'in it in msi afterburner.

Current settings are voltage: 1100, Core/Shader: 920/1840 and Memory: 2140. I was able to hit P6868 in 3DMark 11 and Heaven 41 FPS. Since, I have no barometer of what's' a good overclock i wanted to know if this is a good overclock. If not what should i be shooting for? Also do you think it is possible to get aP7000 3DMark 11 score with this card?

This is just for informational purposes as a daily driver i would most likely run the card at stock speeds.

Ended up running my cards at 925MHz and moved up another spot on the 3DMark 11 board.

Now I'm within spitting distance of 7th place. 11 points!

I've got nothing to do tomorrow. Maybe I'll give 940 a shot at this voltage. Prob gonna crash but hey, it's worth the shot!

I love how my wimpy 580 overclock is keeping up with the big OC boys.

EDIT:
Does anyone else get a heavy stutter sometimes when running the Combined Test at the very beginning of the CT run? I got it the last time I ran and it cut 283 points off my CT score.

I had the same issue with my i7 950. Maybe bad coding? I bet those points would have taken me to #7. :/

Some cards scale well, and some just don't.

Edit those bios and throw some real volts on there.

Solid over clock there. I'd bet your OC wall is coming up pretty soon, but 7k is definitely feasible.

Real volts + stock cooling = GPU fire. :/

It's amazing. There are people with some serious overclocks on their cards and I'm either nipping at their heels or surpassing them on a modestly extreme OC on air.

If I got good cards for once in my life it would make my day.

I'm surprised my bottom card didn't try to eat itself when I ran at at 925.

To go from 850 to 900 required voltage to peak from 1.088v to nothing under 1.125v for 900 core. Now 925 is running on the same voltage?

Could it be possible there was some kind of voltage dead spot to get over the 900 hump and now that I'm past it I might be able to get some more out of them?
