Congrats on those cards, awesome. Of course you can join.

When you get the cards we need proof, like a GPU-Z validation with you OCN name. See first page of different ways of proof.

One thing I'd like to point out is our OP takes one or two weeks to update as of late has been very busy.

We are a very active bunch however and helpful if you have any questions.

See you soon bud. Been a while since we talked back on the Crysis2 thread.

PS - I can't wait for BF3 either. Just did a pre-order with coupon at Newegg for $47.86. No tax free shipping!

Definitely want to test those 580's, not like I don't like my 6970's, but I had an epic deal for those 580's which will make it pretty much a free upgrade.

Few questions though, they will be reference EVGA GTX580 (x2);

1. What fan profile (or %) would you recommend to keep them below 75-80ºC? I know that the fan % does not remain the same speed than AMD cards.

2. What would be a safe range of voltage to overclock the cards? What speeds should I be at (Approximately) on those voltages? Keep in mind I'll keep them on air and I don't want to kill them, I don't want a heavy OC, just some light or moderate OC.

3. What drivers would you recommend me at the moment?

Thanks a lot!

1. I only have one card, here is my fan settings:

40C - 54%
50C - 65%
60C - 76%
70C - 87%
80C - 98%
90C - 100%

I idle 40-42C, full throttle even hours after playing intense games like Crysis or Crysis 2 76C max.

It's a bit aggressive for some but it's an EVGA, I'm not worried about my fan, great warranty.

As for two cards might want a bit higher. Don't worry.

2. Stock voltage on the EVGA GTX 580 SC is 10880v. I wouldn't go over max voltage 1.100v got me to 912Mhz Core clock. See first page of the 580 OC Club link in my sig and you can get a great idea. They went higher but that was for benching.

I run mine @875Mhz core which is a 13% over clock from vanilla 24/7 since February at defaut 1.0880v.

3. I always upgrade to the latest drivers. NEVER install beta drivers. I've been running my 580 since January 15th and haven't had one problem at all. As soon as next drivers come out I update.

It's been improving performance since release with each driver it seems. My 580 has improved since release. Last update was more for 3D Vision.

One thing I've noticed is that Nvidia pays a LOT of attention to the 560 and 580 cards. It's their bread and butter and the cards with no problems at all like VRAM, power phases, or BIOS. Great cards.

Hope that helps get you on your way when you get your cards.

For 1) here is my fan profile I used in SLI/tri-sli with ref cards, silent 99% of the time and temps maxed out at 72*C at 900mhz 1.100v (GTX 570's), I couldn't come anywhere near this kind of profile when I had 6970's because they sounded like a leaf blower:

2) If you don't make 920-930mhz at 1.150 you should probably back it down to 900 and leave it there as you don't have the best OC'er. If you make 950mhz on less than 1.150 I would push it all the way there.

3)I'm using the 285.38 betas and having good performance, much better than 280.26.

You have to use the 285 beta driver to play bf3 beta. I'm sure there will be a new driver released for thr actual game. Also it works perfectly no need to worry about it being beta.

Actually you can bypass having to use 285. I'm using 280 drivers and doing fine thus far. It's beta so I'm not expecting perfection. Just blow by the prompts it will still allow you to log into a server.

Guess I'm a sucker then.

Owell performance is better across the board, and I've had zero issues.
