Hey guys, I am working on overclocking my 560 Ti and am getting some awesome results!
I have had much trouble getting past 900 on the core being 100% stable. At 1.1 volts I finally had a successful 30 minute run of Unigine heaven at 1920x1200 with default settings and 2x MSAA. This was at 940 core, 2300 memory. After that I tried 960 core and it failed, and nothing has worked past 920 since, which is odd... (still haven't resolved this, but....)

Anyway, I decided to push the limits of my memory clock while leaving my core at 900, with 1.1 volts I just had a successful 2+hour run on Heaven benchmark at 900 core, 2450 MEMORY. During that time in unigine I ran the benchmark utility 3 times. Here are my results versus stock and my previous OC of 940/2300:

stock:823/1002(DDR4008): 832 points

core focused OC: 940/1150(DDR4600):948 points

memory focused OC: 900/1225(DDR4900): attemp 1st:1011 points 2nd:1016 points 3rd:1016 points

And still going on the memory biggrin.gif

Not bad at all for a GPU that cost me $193 (amazon deal that ended)! proof.gif GPU-z

Now I can't help but wonder why everyone tries so hard to get 1000Mhz core, because I see more improvements overclocking the memory as well as more stability.

Nice read. I have the msi gtx560ti Twin Frozr II. Hope to get my MB+mem stabil at stock speed before I try to OC my msi card.
I've seen test where they :
The GTX 560 Ti topped out with a final stable overclock of 1030MHz Core and 1160MHz Memory. Another got 1027 core and I reached a memory clock of 1122MHz.

Should be enough to play world of tanks.

I was actually able to get the same success in unigine at 2525 (ddr5050) but when I went to play battlefield 3 the game crashed after about 10 minutes. (a damn shame considering my frame rates were SCREAMING.)

This card is proving to be a tricky one to test, because before I ever tried to up my voltage and before I used unigine as my stability test before games I used furmark.

I had gotten an overclock of 900/2300 with stock volts and it ran for hours in battlefield 3 but crashed in seconds in unigine. Yet at 1.1v/930/2500 I can run unigine for hours and crash in minutes in battlefield confused.gif

I like the sound of DDR5000 but I think, to be safe and all, I'm going to stick with 900/2300 and just try to work up the memory OC overtime, because as I mentioned, it scales amazingly. (roughly every 10% increase yields 9%+/- higher scores and frames)

Umm just an fyi everyone who has had there memory clocked high on the 570/580s has had them burn out after a short period of time.

This.

I would dial back the memory OC or risk bricking your card/ causing excessive artifacting even at stock.

Memory clocks with GDDR5 does not have as much of an impact as it did with GDDR3.

You're better off putting it to either 2100 or 2150 at the most.

My msi 560 is running stock out of the box on :
volt 1050, core 880, shader 1760 and mem at 2100.
World of tanks is looking great, and the 5 minuts of play I had before the machine frose was looking great.

But I must get my gene-z board worked out and stable at stock speed before I clock anything. I'm having a hard time just to get my vengeance sticks to run on 1600. It will freeze ore not boot at all if I try the xmp profile, ore set things manually.and then I have to lower the speed to 1066 to get things going.

What do you consider a high clock on memory and how long is a short period of time? Been running my memory at 2200MHZ for a while now with no issues...
