Yea but i think there is always that risk in overclocking just in general, but if it worked, you would have a pretty bad ass card lol

In? =D

What you need to do to join a club is usually in the very first post of that thread.
Quote:
Requirements

- Must be a GPU-Z validation, screenshot or photo
- MUST contain your OCN username as is
- Brand name must be stated
- Core clock must be stated if overclocked
- If you are claiming a "high" OC, please provide stability proof (ie. 3DM11)

You will not be added to the list unless all requirements are met.
Please do not pm me, I will add you from your reply in the thread.
The thread will be updated every weekend, so look out for my post before you ask why you haven't been added.

Well it's not surprising if it's from the unlock shaderers but there's no proof if that's the actual culprit. Any type of OC can cause this eventually degrading the GPU like any OC has the potential of doing.

What we eventually may come to find is a pattern how the unlocked shaders is effecting the 6950 over time. The risk of an unlocked GPU can deteriorate the GPU faster than even a normal OC. The length of life span may also vary from card to card. However nothing that substantiates this as of yet.

Funny how in every tech review I've read regarding this subject, there was a warning to over clockers should they take this route to do so at their own risk. Guess the question is if it's still under warranty with unlocked shaders because if the vendor can prove it was unlocked it may void warranty being tampered. Any type of BIOS flash that's not vendor approved is also not covered.

A lot of cards can artifact regardless even at default stock clocks. It's luck of the draw really. The odds of bad cards are little percentage over getting good cards for the most part.

I wouldn't base it off this result. However if priced similarly, on a single 1920x1200 resolution monitor or less the GTX 560Ti 448 is a better price / performance card vs the AMD 6950 2GB version across every game benched as of yet including BF3.
