Should i turn back my memory from 2000 to 1900 stock? Or is 2000 still safe.
You should also try to make some profiles in Afterburner. I have one set for stock clocks. One set for 797/1594/1950 @ 1.0v. And the last set to 850/1700/2000 @ 1.063v.

I switch profiles based on demand of the game. If it's something like Mass Effect 2 where Vsync is enabled I use stock clocks since it caps at 60 fps anyway.

Metro 2033 and BFBC2 like to be played on the 850 clock.

And to be honest I haven't really found much use for the 797mhz one. That was my first overclock so I used that in Metro before I decided to grow some balls and push past 800 lol.

I just finished installing my new EVGA GTX 580 card in my 45 day old Cyberpower custom build. I paid $568.00 and broke the bank to do it but it was worth having a simple one card solution.

I'd like to be added to the "Nvidia GTX 570/580 Owners Club".

EVGA GTX 580 SC - kept stock specs until I learn more about OC'ing this a tad.

Anyone know of a good safe stable overclock I can take this up to please advise.

Thanks in advance. Happy gaming!

Congrats on your new 580.

850Mhz core is a nice healthy OC for that card.

*distilled water. check!
*isopropyl alcohol. check!
*q-tips. check!
*tool kit. check!

I'm gonna start small, disassembling my Palit, and after that...wish me luck.
I should have pics of the Palit naked and with block/backplate within the hour.

So I'm at 5 minutes of stress testing with OC Scanner, heavy mode on, load limiter off and I have 0 artifacts. My OC is 900/1800/2000 @ 1000mv. This seems higher than most of the ones posted, so I must be doing something wrong in my test lol.

EDIT: Actually I guess everyone else kept pushing or stayed lower. Not too many 900's for me to compare against. 15 minutes and still no errors. I will try higher later.

I guess this is also my entry into the club post:

Here they are....lol. Took a little longer than anticipated...now, only 2 more to go. :/ So many tiny parts...and the stock TIM was almost powdery.

Stock cooler's a beaut, ain't she?

Naked! Eeeeeek!

TIM'd and padded.

Blocked...

...and PIMPED.

The plugs are only on temporarily...back at it tomorrow morning....tired and still fighting a hangover.

lol...gorgeous mongoloid.

Thanks Dark. I was just told I used too much TIM even though I followed the instructions that EK had in the manual/sheet thingy.

And you can see on the stock heatsink, there was a pile of it on there originally.
