Hahaha, that's what reflex said! I'm still kind of a noob at this stuff. I appreciate the guidance guys! Sounds good. I PMed him... maybe it'll work out, maybe it won't. But if I don't need quad-core, then why get it? Thanks!

If you have it before you need it you won't have to upgrade later. Future Proofing is what I'm aiming for. And on that note:http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/ I've been waiting the better part of 11 years for this game to come out. It's my reason for splurging here and there on my system. Plus if I build what I want the first go around I won't be tempted to buy upgrades down the road.

I can't wait either! I love Blizzard Games. Unfortunately... there's no surefire way to futureproof technology.

EDIT: And now you guys have me rethinking which processor I want. Argh.

Hehe. I know what you mean. The trick is to just do research, research and more research. And when you think you have researched enough you will undoubtedly come across something you over looked in your research and have to do some more. Wow, listen to me, If only I had been this motivated in school.

Hahaha! Sometimes at work this is all I do when it's slow... I've done so much already... but I just don't get processors. The differences seem miniscule... but at the same time very big. Hmmm.

My problem was finding a mother board with the specs I wanted. I needed 2 slots between my GPU's and would run cross in x8/x8. 1 for the extra slot from my 5770 and the other for my tuner. But I couldn't find any that would do x8/x8. I evened looked for a 1366 and Sandy boards. Nothing... So I setting for The MSI board cause it's what I found first and impressed me. The hardest thing really is the CPU mobo. Cause its the build block for you system. But if you are determined you will find what you want or something pretty close.

Makes sense. I can't even believe you found something like that! That's amazing! LOL

I have not changed the OP yet, but I have settled with the ASUS Maximus III GENE motherboard. It's also going to be more, but after doing research... it has a lot of features I want. If that helps as far as picking a CPU, let me know.

another alternitave would be a 1156 xeon.

like the X3430 (i5 750 clone), or X3440 (i7 860 clone)

they tend to overclock a bit better than the core I counterparts.

or you could just go with a certain i5 650

Ya I seen lots of people using that board and thought about it myself. at first I wanted to a i7 build build but first that was way out of budget. And an i7 of 1156 is a waste cause you can't setup triple channel ram. So I just went for the fastest unlocked i5 and it turns out to be a great chip at a reasonable price.

Haha! I truly am considering it man.

I honestly don't know what Xeon is. Gonna look it up now.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. It's just the previous generation. Right?

Then maybe I should take note and get that i5-655k? Is it the fastest for that setup then?
