I've been having trouble with spikes in latency for Battle Field: Bad Company 2 on my wireless network. The latency will occasionally spike up to 999 and cause me to lag out for a few seconds and get me kicked from servers. I also have some trouble with rubber-banding.

I tested the game with my computer plugged directly into my router and it worked fine no latency spikes, the router is in a good area and I do get a good signal. Is there anything I can do to fix my problems? I can't keep my computer plugged into the router full time.

The router is a DLink Dir-655, my wireless adaptor is ENCORE ENLWI-N IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI 2.3 Wireless Adapter with D-Link ANT24-0230 Xtreme N 2.4GHz Antenna.

*edit*
I have tried pinging my router for awhile to see if the spikes appear there, they do not.

*Ping Test*
