Can bandwidth effect your overclock on your cards?

Thread Starter
Im just curious. I have 2 460 Hawk talon attacks, and they are supposed to get close to a gig core speed using afterburner but it appears I got two crappy ones (maybe?)

When I had just one card I got the core clock to 945 MHz while at +100 mV in the voltage (maxed out). but now with two cards it fails at that speed. When I just had the one card the bandwidth was X16, but with two in SLI the Bandwidth is X8/X8. could that effect it?

And if you could give me some suggestions on how to Overclock better; such as what to adjust in my BIOS, then that would be awesome too.

This is on my sig rig btw..

No, the bandwidth doesn't affect your overclocking unless they aren't getting enough power, which on an 8x slot you don't have to worry about. Most people have a hard time getting past 900mhz so I don't think youre doing too bad. Try overclocking the core clock before raising the memory clock, the memory clock affects the card much less than core clock, but will limit you in overclocking if using it first.
