Phenom II x4 955 BE goal 4.2ghz

Thread Starter
I was able to get 4.0ghz, I tried 4.1 and 4.2, 4.1 was more stable, but won't prime more than 5 min

Current settinges:
CPu V: 1.5
CPU NB: 1.2
NB: 2400mhz
HTT: 2200mhz

I tried upping the cpu v to 1.55 was running prime for a bit longer, upped nb voltage, same thing but eventually got BSOD.

did i hit the dead end?

I Dont Think So The 955 Is A BE So It Supposed To Be Easier To Be OC'D And You Have Some Serious Cooling... But Dont Ask ME :O

CPU voltage is a bit high, I wouldn't go past 1.55v for a benchmark, 1.45v for everyday use.

The average 955 OC for air is around 4.0 ghz.

I don't know if this helps but heres the settings for my 965 c3 4.1 stable for 12 hours. Sorry about the small pic I screen shot at 1920x1080 and photobucket being so awesome scales it down to like 1024x576 but if you squint real hard...

you need really good cooling to run 4.2ghz remember you cant air cool lower than your ambient room temperature so the colder you can make your room the more effective your cooler will be. gl
