Just ordered Evga gtx 570

Thread Starter
Wow ,I have a brand new system built less than 3 months ,I put my gtx460 in sig on ebay. because I cant post here without 35 reps (cant get them tryed)
it sold before I could order a new card(imagine that). I am methodical before I buy anything. Well?

I didnt know what to do. Newegg was sold out of the 570s Evga. I found Tigerdirect had the same deal on them. So I ordered one.

Tell me I made a good decision over the 400 series. I will be a wreck till I get the thing and know I didnt screw up. I based my quick buying decision off ,only a $100 more than a gtx470 and they are suppose to run cooler.

Any input for a broke man at Xmas. When I have Xmas dinner I can say pass the 570 instead of ham and turkey. LOL

the 570 is a GREAT card, and EVGA (imo) is by far the best nvidia partner out there. you really can't go wrong with it. i'm still trying to decide between it and the XFX 6950.
tho i have to say i don't understand why swap the gtx 460, it still has some juice left in it unless ur crazy max settings 2560 res.. i would have waited until ati start lowering 6950/6970 prices a bit (i don't believe they're gonna sell so well, the 6970 anyway, at this price point) and then nvidia will the 570, since u could have stuck it out a bit with the 460 (i have a 8800 so i don't have that luxury )

but anyway, 570 is a great buy, you're gonna get loads of fun from this card. 470 isn't anywhere near as good as it (heat/noise/power->longevity)

well you are coming from 460 so yes it's a good decision

I have one and I must say it's great, I have the super clocked version from EVGA, and it's pretty freaking awesome!!! Unfortunately my current CPU is a bottleneck (e7500). I also have a Micro-ATX case and it still runs fairly cool, this because of the new vapor cooling!!

I think you've made great performance-wise decision, maybe not so good on the bank.

why on earth are you running a 570 SC on an e7500??!!?
that's like buying a ferrari, taking the engine out, and having a horse carry it around...

Because nobody cares about CPU for gaming, because it doesn't matter much at all.

is this a prank thread?? i don't get it.
OF COURSE cpu matters for gaming!!! EVERY component matters for gaming! RAM, PSU, cooling, HD. they can all bottleneck your system if you don't balance them out right. having such a powerful GPU with such a weak CPU makes no sense, just like having a 570 with 1GB of system RAM makes no sense cuz your system will get clogged up and the 570 won't be able to reach its full potential...
