570 vs. 6950 - need to decide QUICK - Page 2

i will join everyone and say 570 for sure! unless 6950 price goes down its not a good buy. Nvidia kicked AMD's butt this time.

o_O
What are you talking about :S
The 6950 prices seem pretty good, at least here in the UK/EU. 570/6970 prices are what suck. +1 vote for the 6950. It's cheaper and not all that far behind

HD 6950 does not have the GPU power to use 2GB because by the time a game does the GPU itself will not do good so memory would not help at all. The good about the RAM is if you RUN eyefinity. Also in CF or Tri-Fire there will be 2 or 3 GPUs only using 2GB so it will help. Here in Canada i would pick HD 6950 before since its ~ 60$ cheaper.

Just go for the stock one. Afaik EVGA don't even bin their cards anymore (at least not wtih Fermi). Not really worth the $20 extra.

I hear a 1GB model is coming out soon. If it's priced well i may return mine and get it, but it does 850 core and 6Ghz! on the memory Core is a bit weak but no voltage support yet and that's the maximum it can do
I think if i lower memory clocks a bit i can go higher on the core :|

6970 is the same price as the GTX 570 over in the UK. I wouldn't go for the 6950 because it performs quite a bit less than the 6970, the 570 or a 6970 is what you want. Both have had good benchmarks.

that's weird, was sure with the 580/570 they would bin since basically it's the same card (tho it would make sense the difference would prob already be in the manufacturing process, don't know enough to tell)

well i'm in the US, so it doesn't matter.. here the 6970 is more $, when it performs pretty much the same as the 570 (and consumes more and is louder/hotter)
