10 pin power switch connector to 2 pin connector

Thread Starter
I have a Dell Dimension 2400 that I'm trying to upgrade. I want to change out the motherboard and cpu with a socket 775. The problem I'm running into is that the power button for the computer has an 10 pin cable connected to it. with the top right hole filled in:

0 0 0 0 X
0 0 0 0 0

The motherboard I'm trying to integrate into the case has a 2 pin power switch.... what should I do?

reusing oem fp connectors can be difficult
try to remove all the pins from the connector, then put them back in the correct places for the new board

some dell machines use the same connector for power/reset/audio/usb ect..
use a multimeter to help figure out which wires do what
